Activation Design 3D Rendering
BRIEF
Baltimore’s annual Artscape (East coasts largest free art fair) shifted in 2025 to downtown and Washington’s Jones Falls Expressway (JFX) corridor, with a vision to introduce immersive public art, functional furnishings, and dynamic lighting for a transformed festival footprint. The City commissioned Raunjiba Creative to design, fabricate, and install key infrastructural elements
WHAT WE DID
Raunjiba Creative was commissioned to reimagine the physical footprint of Artscape 2025 through a comprehensive suite of design, fabrication, and visualization services.
To help festival producers, stakeholders, and city officials envision the scale and logistics of the event, we developed a geo-located 3D activation rendering of the entire festival site. This digital tool layered design elements over a real-time map of the downtown and Jones Falls Expressway corridor, serving as both a visual pre-build and a working layout for production planning.
One of our most impactful contributions was the full production design and fabrication of the Scout Art Fair, curated by internationally acclaimed artist Derrick Adams. Housed inside the historic War Memorial Building, Scout showcased emerging and established artists from across the country. Raunjiba Creative collaborated closely with Adams and the curatorial team to design gallery infrastructure that met museum-quality standards—while still being modular, transportable, and ADA-accessible. Custom wall systems, lighting support, and VIP lounge furnishings, all tailored to elevate the presentation of fine art while honoring the architectural integrity of the venue.
Our design approach prioritized sustainability and legacy. We sourced reclaimed wood and recycled materials from Second Chance and Camp Small, aligning our work with the city’s commitment to reuse and local resource circulation. In addition to the exterior installations beneath the JFX, we designed and built the exhibition infrastructure for the Scout Art Fair inside the War Memorial Building, including gallery walls, VIP furnishings, and ADA-compliant pathways. Every element was fabricated for long-term use—durable enough for year-round deployment in public spaces throughout Baltimore.
RESULT
Our contribution to Artscape 2025 helped redefine the festival’s relationship with public space, bringing new life and functionality to the urban infrastructure beneath the JFX. The installations provided essential shelter, improved navigation, and created welcoming, interactive environments for tens of thousands of visitors during the festival weekend.
Post-event, our work remains visible across the city. By sourcing materials and talent locally, we strengthened Baltimore’s creative economy and demonstrated the power of design as a tool for civic storytelling.
The project received positive media coverage and commendation from city officials, further establishing Raunjiba Creative as a trusted partner in large-scale cultural development. More than a temporary installation, Artscape 2025 became a legacy of artistic functionality—crafted by local hands, built for lasting public use.
